SAFC2 ..SAFC vtec contr.

a freind of mine has a safc2 but the one for the vtec controller on it also,i was wondering if it would work on my car the way a regular safc2 would?? he said it should work just like a regular one...was wondering if there is a difference between the two besides it also being able to control Vtec.....
