hi guys just need some help tuning my SAFC. I am trying to tune at 20 psi but it keeps hitting fuel cut before it even gets to 20 psi. and yes I have all the essential upgrades I need to tune at 20 psi. just wondering if y'all could give me some basic settings that I can start with or tell me why it's doing this

Because before you reach 20 psi the afm is reading an amount of airflow in which the ecu is programmed to cut fuel. Have you don't the lex/550 mod?

Wouldn't have made it to 20psi without the lex.

And the lex doesn't remove fuel cut it just raises it.

And at 20 psi a safc 1 is quite limited and very basic. Should really be looking for something with more tuning options.

And what's so special about 20psi?

is the SAFC 2 that much better all I can see about it is that it gives you 2 tuning settings

No the both very basic. Cant expect the world out of it. And if you have a lex your prolly hitting its limits.

All of the afc's are very basic. With 20 psi like hvyman said, I would recomend something that has more tuning ability like an FIC or even a standalone. This way you can run reliably at your power goal.

Well its the settings on ur safc then if the stock ecu is able to account for 20psi on its own thats higher than most. What do the AFRs do with the safc afm wire unplugged?

If your removing fuel with the safc then your going to hit fc faster. As more air is coming in the fuel being injected.

basically your setup is at its limitations.

Pretty much what I was thinking...At 20psi that turbo should pretty much be at it's max anyway right?

No its good for 30psi+ and without the safc wire and just the ecu itself i can go to 25psi with the screw backed out all the way on the lex afm before it will cut fuel. also without the safc not connected at 20 psi I can maintain my fuel ratios between 11.0 and 11.5 at w.o.t but between 5500 and 6500 rpms it will drop to about 16psi and i loose some power so i figured i could tune with a safc and maybe get it to maintain a good power band or make more hp. would like to get to the 450hp mark. made 392hp without the safc.
