I've been looking on ebay a bit at them and the prices dont seem to be too far apart between the two. Basically the NEO is the one to get your saying?

i liked it when i used it, but i never did use the safc 2 tho, so i cant say if its any better or not.

i believe its 9 points of tuning for the safc2 vs. 16 points for the Neo

plus the neo fits in the ashtray area perfectly:biglaugh:

+1 for good fitting cause trying to make things fit and look nice sucks. How soon are you going with the NEO blackMKIII? as I am looking at purchasing fairly soon.

I think I just might pick one up tomorrow from there. Seems to be fairly reasonably priced. Let me know how install goes on yours and maybe share your settings as I believe we are both running basically stock 1J's with exhaust, intake, etc. Thanks.

I have the neo and like it alot. I've leaned out my 1j a bit as it was running hella rich. Its also got a great color display and monitors many things. It saves your highest rpm, throttle, and bat. voltage for each time u run the car. I am also BPU so we will have to discuss the best settings for the most power. I think I've gotten better gas MPG since I leaned it out alittle as well.

Except for the 9 vs 16 points. NEO just looks prettier than the SAFC2. I've used both and now I am back to SAFC2. It's the same thing when it comes to tunning. So if it's just a few bucks more then go with the NEO since it's visually more appealing then the SAFC.

By brick do you mean heavy? I ordered a NEO last night from the same guy you got yours from BLACKMKIII so since I live in Canada I should see it in a week or so since I got it shipped to a place just south of the border. I was talking to a local shop in town that does tuning and they charge $200 an hour for unlimited pulls etc. Does that sound like a reasonable price as I'm new to the whole tuning side of things?

When I say brick, I mean it's pretty big. It'll fit snug right where the ashtray used to be. (Gotta find another spot for my boost gauge, though)

Anyway, it's pretty easy to install if you use quick splicers (or "Scotch Locks," as I call them) to wire it in. Just clip onto the various wires, snip the MAP sensor wires and route to the AFC, then stuff it all back in. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the pinout diagram is perfect.

The shop I'm tuning at will tune the AFC so I don't have to, and they charge $185 for the tune. $200 for an hour is reasonable, just hope you're good at tuning. :D
