Restoring question: replace stock arm or go Lexus mod?

I know this subject has been beat down as which mod to do is best, but I just got my mk3 and it has a bad afm; so Im looking for advise as what I should do.

Is it better to replace the afm with stock or mod with Lexus or maft? I'm not looking to do anything crazy power at this point, just looking to get my girl on the street again.

Any suggestions? Pros / cons to moding this now?

My advice to you would be to research. Are you willing to replace your fuel system with aftermarket to get the extra fuel needed to go with the extra air the Lexus AFM will give you? If not, I would stay stock.

Better and cheaper to just find a working afm. Unless like above your not on stock fuel.

Absolutely! I just want to do it right. I figured since the afm is bad, then go Lexus mod and build for the future. Just by reading other posts, it seems the Lexus mod is more or less a prep for future builds; is that right? I have tons of plans and plenty of time to do it.

With the Lexus mod, I'll be looking at new 550 injectors and fuel rail/pump; is there something more specific I should do additionally?

Lipp makes a fuel rail and possibly titan? No need for upgraded rail other than looks.

If it's just the sensor and not something else (like a screwed up honeycomb), then you can usually pick up a lexus AFM pretty cheap and swap the electronics. Then you have the lexus housing for future upgrading.

The stock 7M fuel rail is good for up to 1000HP. Ask Duane, he will tell you.

OP, if you have the fund, get a Maft Pro. It will make your life easier if you want to eliminate the AFM and run speed density.

If you don't have the funds at the moment, get a used AFM, a stock one, unless you want to install 550's and tune with a SAFC and a fuel pressure regulator.

Thx again all! I got a used afm last night. It should be here on Monday. What's the limit of using a stock afm - power wise? I'm not ready to do any turbo mods or anything yet, exhaust work first.

Other than sound, is there a difference between the blitz or HKS systems? I'm looking for a deeper, throaty sound.
