Removing transmission.

I will be installing a new clutch. Anyways I jacked up the car just to look at everything that was on the TSRM. And I am quite confused on some things.
1. First how would you remove the driveshaft? There are no bolts or clips.
2. Where are the bolts on my '92 starter(new thread style)?
3. To get to the top bolts of the tranny/bell housing, what part of the engine mounts do I loosen?, the single bolts that are by the front wheels?

Anyone in Reno that has removed a Supra tranny wanna come help?

and all i can say is that reinstalling the tranny with the car on jackstands is a PITA!!!! good luck.

Yea i've already read that a few times, doesnt really help much.

its like any other tranny once yourve done one you can do any other one. except that the mkiii trannies are gay.

one tip tho take out the starter first and if you have problems get a scissor (sp) jack and stick it under the front of the engine and jack it up so you can pitch the whole thing down so get to all those nasty bolts on top of the tranny. Works great if you got monkey hands!

Yea I have absolutely no idea on how to get to them otherwise. I take it I have to loosen the 2 main motors mounts to do this?

I don't know about the 92 Starter, but my starter was really hard to get. I put a 14mm wrench on the nut and had someone hold the wrench why i used a swivel ratchet and swivel socket to remove the lowest starter bolt and then dropped the rear tranny mount and used a long extension and swivel socket for the remaining 3 top bolts. I recommend installing the clutch components to the tranny if you have the r154 it was a bitch installing the tranny with the engine in place with the clutch and PP already installed. I had to jack the front of the engine up to get enough angle and clearance to slide the shaft into the pilot bearing. Good luck

oh, okay. all i can say is that if i ever have to replace my clutch/fw again, i am just gonna pull the motor out complete to do it. it was to much of a PITA with the motor in the car and me not having access to a lift.
