I cant wait to hear what the actual failure was. Having to redo a HG job after less than 75 miles has got to blow. (No pun intended.)

I found those two hoses and both are ok. I filled with some coolant and started with rad cap off. all I saw was bubbling and more bubbling, I put the rad cap on, bubbling continued into the res.... Guys... I have a feeling the next post on this thread will consist of 3 letters all in Caps. I just dont understand where that coolant came from?

Just thought of something crazy as hell.. could my timing be so off that its causing this bubbling? or are these questions signs of BHG denile?

I didnt say it was the greatest idea. Just what Toyota had advised to their techs. Actually it was in response to someone messing a head up with a 2" Roloc disc on a die grinder. Using the Scotch Brite or sandpaper both pose dangers unless proper precautions are followed.

Yeah, you can screw the surface up using Scotch Brite too...especially if used with an air grinder. It is a bit more forgiving than sandpaper though when used by hand.

Is the bubbling from boiling the coolant or is it air in the fluid?

It sounds like the prep work, or lack there of (no offence), has caused a very poor seal between the block and cylinder head.

Pressure test the system. If that comes back with bad news, then take the engine to a GOOD (also read as expensive) machinist to check for flatness and pitting of the mating surfaces.

Yep, its a BHG. I fucked up. Had a deadline to get the car out of where it was, and was running out of time. Meh, live and learn.

I have a engine waiting for me this winter. Might as well do it right for this awesome, awesome white car.
