I heard Autozone now has hatch supports. Dealer wanted $150 ea 3 yrs ago. I found some at Pepboys that I made work by grinding the mounting bracket off the factory ones, and bolting it to the new generics. Still working great. Only $25 ea.:biglaugh:

I've found replacements for 70 a set, plug and play, no modifacation. But I'd like to stick to OEM.

Does the color indicate w/w/o wing????? Turbo/NA???? That's the only thing I can think of.

My turbo has red can, someone check their NA???

Red labeled is for a wing and set up for the extra weight of that.

Green labeled is for a hatch without a wing and set up for less weight.

The struts can go out over time too, of course. The ones on my hood were almost shot when I got the car. The hood would stay if it was dry, but not if it was wet. Still haven't replaced the hatch ones yet. It's pretty heavy to lift without much help from the struts.
