When the engine is cold, the idle will come up to around 1600 rpms and stay there for maybe 2 minutes before it starts to come down.
It used to when cold the idle would jump to about 1250-1300 rpms and then come right down to around 900 until warm. This is generally what it does after it has reached operating tempature and is restarted.
I live in Texas, so it really isn't cold outside, so the idle should not be jumping that high. Wondering should I be looking at the coolant temp switch or the idle speed control?
If the temp switch is suspected, does anyone have the test procedure, or is it the same for the 2j?
Thanks
Wayne
