Read the stuff, but my one question is. Can the logs on the PDA be loaded in the PC and viewed as we view our logs now.

Maybe I missed something, but I am on this anyway, as it is a pain having the laptop on the front seat.

Charles, if you know please advise, if not, I will contact ZT.

Dan, I think that it will, if I correctly read his reply to my first question :

Hello,
Happy to see you teamed up with Zeitronix to make software available that can utilize a palm to datalog the zt -2.
Will the graphs be able to overlay on one screen?
Thank you, Charles
Not on the Palm. But in the PC log viewer, they will be. The current version (available free on the site) does not yet support ZT logs, but we are almost done with it and will be available shortly.

Got the Palm today. M130. Great shape. 83.00 shipped with all the stuff it came with new.

ZT adapter is 22.00 shipped.

Software and hotsync cable will be about 60.00.

Looks like about 165.00 when all is said and done, but the convenience will be priceless.

The Palm will probably end up replacing my ZT display, so after selling that my net cost will probably be under 80.00 and I will never have to have the laptop in the car again (unless I go with a different piggyback or standalone).

Thanks again for the heads up Charles.

Dan

Dan, that's awesome. Keep us posted on your impressions.

I thought about the ability of being able to do away with the display unit too....but....consider battery life of the PDA. Some I looked at had like an 1 1/2 to 2 hour on time. Sure that's plenty for tuning and critical monitoring, but I like to see that info all the time :) cause i can :)

Wow, that charger changes things. Can you have the pda on and operational while hooked to the charger or is it for charge only?

For your mount option, check out how I rigged the mount for my G-Tech Pro
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12
I used a RAM Mounting System.

edit: Actually the one you listed is less expensive. I used the ram mount because i didn't like the mount that came with the G-Tech.

If any of you buy the serial PDA male adapter from ZT, open it up and let me know what the pinouts are.... I don't want to spend $15 when I can get a universal one for $5.......

Hey Dan, can you give us the pin out of the Zt-2 Serial PDA Cable Male connector? I got a Palm m125 from a buddy. I still need to get a hot sync cable, cheapest I found so far is $14.99. I also need the zt2-pda adapter ;). Then I'll be set to purchase the software $40.
Do you have any logs on the pda? Can you post some. I downloaded the Pocket Logger Viewer, for viewing the logs on a pc :)

Ok, for those interested. I checked the pinout of a hotsync serial connector and the output of the zt-2. I cannot confirm this to be positively correct until I get my hotsync cable and Pocketlogger software, but this is how I wired my data cable. Notice; I don't think pin 3 of the zt2 is used because it is +5v. If it is then it should connect to pin 7 of the db9.

rj11 connector end to zt2:
pin1=txd
pin2=rxd
pin3=+5v
pin4=gnd

*Verify your own wiring

edit: ok the guy from zeitronix replied to my question about pin7. he said the +5v line is used. so i've updated the pic.

edit: this is verified to work :)

edit:This one would be easy to pin out and still use the phone cable from your other zt2 adapter -

Pinout of the new Connectors ISNMS posted directly above (To clarify, the image on the left is inside of the serial adapter.):

Tested and works.
