Rack N Pinion Rebuild

Has any body ever rebuilt there rack if so how hard is it, if not I guess it would be easier to replace.

Prolly easier to go just buy a new one, and use your old one as the core. They are usually 150-250 depending on the part, prolly more for a rarer car like a supra. rebuilding it is def. possible though.

You may be able to find an aftermarket that is sturdier and lighter than the stock.

I don't think any aftermarket/performance racks exist...You can, however buy rebuilt stock ones from Autozone, Kragen, etc.

I just looked at Kragen and it was about $250 for a reman. Is there any place else that might carry one other than Napa, Autozone, and Pepboys?

I think they're usually around $250. As for other places to buy a rack from, there's always Toyota, but you won't be happy. You could try some of the big online parts vendors, but I don't know if they give core discounts.

They build that kind of shit for mopar but not supras?????
I had just assumed some one would be doing this I could be wrong.
