heres the deal i have raced on an oval which is used for some nascar races but with my old tercel which was setup for suspension and had only 90 hp, i did ok and beat some cars like a prelude and a maxima, now what i am wondering since i skiped it this memorial day because i was affraid to lose control, does anyone know what kind of racing condtions a supra can handle like traction wise stock, i am gona be doing mostly suspension work for now since 200 hp is enough to get me around the track, its a one lap deal and eliminations, the next one is july 2nd so i wana be ready for this i have raced on this track many times but never with the supra any ideas and has anyone tried anything like this, also anyone from mass should maybe meet me there if they wana try it, well heres some vids for you guys to catch a feel of what it is and to comment on the first one is a crash tho this was this past sunday
they also do a demo derby there which the last link is a 10 mintue vid of, i also did this last year with a cutlass

Ah what the crap! I live near 3 tracks and none of them allow this...

Cool stuff, good luck if you decide to do it.

yea i pretty much am gona do it, i have before like i said but never with a car with this power, i must have done it like 7 times already and got into the 2nd round twice out of those, what i am worried is going into the turns, i don't wana loose control there cause as you can see in the first vid the walls arent forgiving at all

Tiburons if I'm not mistaken are front wheeled drive so when he understeered he was pretty much screwed, you have the good fortune of rear wheel drive so I would just work on being comfortable with an oversteering car and learning how to stay calm and react to the situation so you can end up better off than that guy should should that happen to you. I throw mine around twisty roads quite often now, the LSD was a godsend, and she's pretty easy to steer sideways so long as you don't go overboard. Anyways good luck!

That didnt really look like too much fun to me (kinda boring), but hey different strokes for different folks i guess. Well my supra doesnt really handle too well in the rain, however, it Handles better than my old foxbody though.

Wow I live in Mass and never been out to seekonk for this. Didn't know they do it.
Looks like fun but it seems whoever gets the jump is most likely gonna win with only a 1 lap race. Especially on such a small track like seekonk.
That first video doesn't seem too fun haha. I'm more afraid of coming into the turn too fast and understeer with the Supra.
Good luck. maybe I'll get out there to try it out sometime.

I come from a land down under
When I was a kid I did a trip to Europe and used to go to the local speedway where once a Month they had Spectator races!

Was always stunned at how badly a street car crumples form even minor shunts! ;)

id just make sure your tires are in great shape, as well as your major components like brakes and the rack and pinion.

I think tires (of a decent width), shocks and swaybars would be my priorities. Then I'd look into lowering the car a bit and get that center of gravity down.

As for that li'l Tibby..... DAMN! That had to hurt.

I'm going to have to look and see if any of the tracks out here ever open up to the public like that... I know one used to, but that was about 10 years ago.
