searched but nothing jumped out and i could spend hours combing

i have a 1992 soarer with a 1j and obviously a soarer r154, problem is i grenaded my trans. i have access to a supra r154, i was wondering, what is needed to swap them? do i need to change the whole tail section? or just the shifter bits.

facts:
1. there are two type of soarer r154's- remote shifters and swan necks

2. you can convert a supra trans into a soarer with the swan neck bits.

3. you can convert a supra r154 into a remote shifter soarer trans by swapping the tail housings.

so to answer my own question, it depends on what style soarer trans you have, swan neck (90-93) or remote shifter (94-00)

my trans is a remote shifter, so i get to hybrid me a trans.
