R154 questions with pics.

Ok so i picked up a R154, i didnt know what i was looking for at the time, i can tell its a R154 but there seem to be a few things missing. And when doing the 5spd swap does the automatic speedometer cable work?

Isnt the Abs sensor supposed to be here on the drivers side? i dont even see a hole for it.



And What goes in that gaping hole?

big gaping hole iirc is the speedo hole, not sure about that abs sensor

i dont think that has abs on it.. if it did it would be a round whole about a dime in size with no threadsa ad a hold down bolt hole next to it.

yes, that big hole is the speedo gear. the abs sensor is on the driver's side, a little bit higher and further back than the speedo gear

edit: and no, i don't see it there.

damnit, so what effects is this going to have on my ABS system, i will always be throwing the code? i wasnt aware that R154's came without ABS sensors.

just plug the hole. IMO the abs on the mk3's sucks. I like driving without mine. So i'd just figure out something to plug the hole, i don't have my sensor hooked up to anything.

well there is no hole. thats the thing. So if i have no sensor is there any reason to have the big ass ABS unit in the engine bay and all the lines and crap? i'll just take the ABS bulb out.

the bulb would most satifie you,

or you could find the abs speedo drive gear and an abs extension housing from all transmision in portland. should be able to convert it over in your drive way with proper tools...

hmmmm come to think of it, there might be a freeze plug in there.......so my abs isnt going to work without that sensor correct?

oh yeah i've got all new stuff in my room being i work for a parts store, that or its on the way from Tubbie, lol hes got everything.
