just wanted to kno if anyone out there is having the same problem as me. after doing my 1j swap i noticed that the speedometer was off by about 10 miles an hour, so if im going 60 on the dash im really going 50. i thought it was just my car but my freinds 1j does the same thing too. just wondering if this is a common thing for those who do the 1j swap and if so why does this happen? is the gear ratio in the 1j r154 different? is there a way to fix this?

Thanks,
Vic

If you still have your original r154, you can swap out the speedometer gear which should correct your problem.

the 1j supras in jdm land had 4.1 rear ends.. USDM supras are either 3.73 or 3.9, so the speedo gear in the tranny is different.

swap the speedo gear in the tranny to your old one, and your all set.
