I really didn't want to start new thread about this but none of the people on here or supraforums have posted the resolution they found for their issues.

Anyway...

A few weeks ago I installed a bic ddp, bic test pipe, and hks drager catback. A month before that I installed a blitz sus power intake. The car was running beautifully and felt fast as hell.

Then a few days ago I started to notice a stutter when i boosted. I also hit fuel cut a few times so i thought maybe that was the issue (car was running pretty close to 12 lbs). After doing some research i drilled out the plate on the stock afm and backed the adjustment screw out like people do on the lexus afm. That didn't make a difference whatsoever.

The car runs and idles fine under normal driving so i figure this definitely has to be caused by a boost leak. Going with my gut i removed the intercooler, all of the piping aside from the plastic in the fender, and the accordian hose. Sure enough i found 2 or 3 "potential" boost leaks. 2 are of course on the lower ic pipe that goes to the turbo and one is actually on the hose to the stock bov.

Just to be sure, i read the codes expecting to see a 34, and instead found that I am throwing a code 24 which is this:

24 Intake air Temp Sensor Signal

Diagnosis
* Open or short circuit in intake air temp sensor signal (THA).

Trouble Area
* Intake air temp sensor circuit
* Intake air temp sensor
* ECU

After searching i found this to be a pretty common problem, but it seemed like everybody had their own little variation and that most of them were throwing more than one code (ie: 34 & 24).

So this is my main question:

Is it possible that a boost leak could cause the ecu to misread and throw a code 24? Or is the code 24 a completely seperate issue from my boost leak?

It's unrelated to the boost leak. Nor will a bad air temp sensor cause the engine to stutter.

Assuming the ECU is OK it simply means the THA signal is either above 4.8 volts or below .1 volt. It's just a dumb computer and this is the only thing that'll cause it to set that code. Check the sensor. If it's good check the wiring between it and the ECU.

Yeah i didn't think so... I honestly have no idea how long the car has been throwing this code. Never once has it given me a check engine light. I just checked as a result of the stutter and it happened to be there.
