I have the summit single filter kit and have the car all apart right now and I just need to know if I actually do need the n/a adapter? I read through the whole sticky about it, but it doesnt really say if its absolutely necessary with the summit kit. The kit does come with all those adapters so does one of them work? Thanks

I am doing a oil relocation soon and been buying parts and i just bought a NA adapter today but iam not sure with the summit kit. Good luck. John
It is not *absolutely* necessary, but if you want to get rid of the stock pressure-based cooler, and bring your oil pressure up a little, I'd do it.

Explain to me how would he relocate the filter without the N/A adapter, or something like it to assist with the remote mounting of a filter. Yes...to relocate it you would need that, or something that lets you run hoses to the remote filter adapter.
im going to be using the stock cooler for now. i THOUGHT that I could just (for the block) use the turbo adapter and a sizing ring that comes with the kit, and then (for the remote mount) use the adapter that comes with the kit. is this not possible?

Does anyone have a pic of this n/a adapter and the best place to find one? I'll be doing the oil filter relocation along with a new, larger oil cooler at the same time. Since this seems to be an essential part, I guess I should go ahead and find one...

alright im really getting confused now.......i just went out there to start this and i have some questions. i took the old filter housing off and i took the big bolt out that threads into the block. now what am i suppose to use to put the new plate on the block,
if i use the kit adapter, then what am i suppose to use to hold the filter on in its new location? most likely the threaded adapter in the housing, but i cant get it out becasue there really isnt anything to get a wrench around?

If you are ONLY relocating the Oil filter, you need to leave the stock filter mount with that long bolt, remove the oil filter and screw the oil filter kit adater where the oil filter was, (it will be the adapter that does NOT have mounting holes). then you route the provided hoses to where you want to relocate the filter. This method leaves the Oil cooling system intact/stock which is pressure based. The Oil filter goes to the other adapter, the one that has mounting holes. Your kit should have came with some different threaded studs to match our filter threads.
The only time you need the NA adapter, is when you are getting rid of that entire stock oil filter housing and converting the oil cooling system to a full flow, temperature system etc. then you would put that adapter directly to the engine block with the NA adapt, where you removed the stock filter mount.
