Well, if it were me, I would take the head to a machine shop and have it looked over. Have it decked and consider a valve job, new seals, guides (if needed). Assuming you're using a stock HG, get the big stuff off with a scraper...then use a fine scotch bright pad to get the remainder. Block the coolant/oil openings with foam rubber...be careful and do not use sand paper. Use Mopar Combustion Chamber cleaner to clean the pistons. Make very sure the block deck is flat with a machinist's square.
Change the oil before you fire it up...use something relatively cheap like Walmart 5W-30 Supertech (and filter too). Run the car for about 5 minutes to flush all the passages and get any coolant out of the pan. Change again to your favorite oil and filter.
