okay. I am curious to find a program that i can use to hook up my laptop to my car and get information out of. I'm looking for something will allow me to change air/fuel ratio, see diagnostics, allow me to pretty much just toy around with settings, and maybe even change shift points for my automatic. Is there a software i can get for my lappy to do this and if so, what will i need (software, connectors, piggy back ecu, etc.) Thanks alot.

you will need some sore of standalone ecu... which will replace the stock ecu.
a few options are stinger, aem ems, and motec. you will need to buy a wideband o2 sensor, iat sensor, boost sensor, etc as inputs to the standalone. the whole setup for each option can be very expensive, but very powerful tools for tuning. if you dont know what your doing, you could easily blow you motor.
