Turbo Supras came with a different auto tranny than N/A's correct? If so, is there a code somewhere on the tranny to identify which one it is? Thanks

I think speedometer gearing since turbos and N/A's have different ratio differentials. That's the problem I'm having. Speedo way off after JDM transmission put in prior to me buying car.

Nope.... Diffrences are in the Valve body and a few more clutches in the tranny itself. Look into the speedo cable & cluster for that fix. Actually to be real spacific:

On the GTE 1st gear,2nd gear Overdrive, & reverse has 1 extra plate & disc. So thats 4 more clutch disc & 4 more plates. Also O/D has a larger valve body piston stroke for the O/D break & the clutch pack clearances. Yes the line pressure is higher in the GTE tranny so the valve body is slightly diffrent to accomadate the xtra preasure. The GTE valve body has diffrent placement of check balls, larger 2nd gear modulator valve, & larger accumalator springs. The 3 solenoids may also be slightly larger for better flow. I'm not sure if this is true but Toyota does list diffrent part #'s.
