I was just wondering if i should stick with the idea of having a metal head gasket like the HKS stopper or getting something that can be easier to make a good seal without the need of having the head machined practically perfect. I thought about swapping to a 2jz but i figured i could build a high hp 7m twice over before getting a 2jz done considering how expensive that swap can be so im sticking with the 7m. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah i have a lot of learning to do! I want to do it myself so i can gain the greatly needed experience. I changed the turbo but that was just practically a bolt on affair,it was the one from lipp. Really easy! Its not tore apart just yet, i have 3 weeks till i move to my own home so i will wait till then. I have a chilton manual but it is very non descriptive on changing the headgasket! Any tips on tear down? I know this is a stupid question but do i have to remove everything out of the head to have it machined? I was once told the ignorant know everthing but the wise ask about everything. Not saying your ignorant for im sure your knowledge on the mk3 is vast compared to mine. Im the type of person who has to know everything about something before i attempt to try it, i must be afraid to fail, lol. Oh, and so i quit asking stupid questions does anybony know of a good manual for the mk3 supra?

That link is the Toyota Service Repair Manual, TSRM. I take it your engine is running care free right now? If you choose to use a MHG you need to have the block/head machine to a RA of 30, but dont quote me on that, search. BTW I don't know that much either

If you stick with the 7M and yours is running ok right now, save your money and do it when it fails...or build another block and then you can swap it in at your leisure. At any rate, the best way is to pull the motor and deck both the block and head to the specs for the hg you choose. I guess some "stock" gaskets can be installed without these exacting machining steps, but it would always be a concern in the back of my mind, personally. Especially when you want more hp down the road. gl.

NewWestSupras I gotta disagree with you on that one, if your planning on doing a rebuild I highly sugest doing it before a failure. When a engine fails it can cause damage to engine parts that could of been reused. IMO
