The day i installed mine (and i remember it well) the drive after i buttoned it all back up was freakin awesome! the shifter was tight and it felt great!

Fast forward a couple of months my shifter still feels good but not as good as it did that first day its more loose now but its not like the stock bushing was.

Did i not grease it enough? Is it normal for these bushings? If its not normal than im gonna replace it when i swap driveshafts so i just wanted some feedback.

I may replace it anyways just to get that feeling again after its done. :biglaugh:

Probably just normal wear. Anything plastic against metal is going to be a wear item. They're not very expensive, though, you could always order another set and grease it more. Or try a BillyM shifter bushing.

yea thats why i was thinkin about replacing it anyways and greasing the living crap out of everything.

i greased it the first time but not crazy amounts and 98% of the driving i do is city with LOTS of gear changes.

i like to replace my shifter bushing every year, because they do wear out.. theres only one place the worn material goes.

i always use OEM though.. haven't tried marlin.. how is it?

Its great it actually feels like the shifter is connected to something!

But i cant really say compaired to a stock one when i pulled my shifter my stock bushing was non existant it had turned into crumbs and some had fallen inside the trans i cleaned it out the best i could but i couldnt reach some of them.

Another question when you guys put your ball socket bushing on did you grease the ball too?

i kinda figured itd wear in some but not THIS much it might be because of all the shifting i do.

having a 4.30 and being in the city i shift alot. its cheap so im gonna replace it. if it happens again ill just know its wear and not something i did.
