I plan on doing a 2j auto swap in my cress in about a month or so but where my problem stands is the tail of the 2j auto tranny. I was thinking that since the 1j are found in the Jzx90 I can swap the 1j tranny onto the 2j motor. I'm trying to keep my stock driveshaft. But the question I'm asking is will it be plug and play?

Thanks

It won't work without swapping output shafts of the transmission and some of the other internals. You also can't just swap tail housing because of the difference of the driveshaft type.

You can in theory make a hybrid transmission. I made one for my car and its full bolt in but I have no idea if it'll work. Its much easier to get a driveshaft or use a 1j

You may have to bypass a neutral start switch and sort out any differences in reverse light wiring, but the tranny should perform flawlessly regardless of the ECU.
