Like the title says folks. I have the chance to buy a 89+ Automatic turbo supra. My Supra now is a 87 non turbo 5 spd with the w58. I dont plan on going to crazy boost levels because Im not exactly rich. I have my motor and trans out already and I'm waiting for some advice if it's possible to use that turbo motor with my manual trans. I heard it is and I just have to rewire stuff on the turbo harness for the neutral switch or something so it doesnt think the car is in park. If anyone can help me on what I need to exactly do I'll be so greatful as this is my only car and I need to get her back on the road asap. The reason I wanted to go turbo is because I cant find another closer motor and hey, its turbo, why not?

Please feel free to ask me any questions so that you can further help me. Thank you so much!

Here's my album of my rebuild so far!

if you use a W58 in the 7mgte it wont hold up as much as a r154 would and possibly wear our the clutch disc faster, but i know a few people on here that have used it, otherwise as far as wiring goes, just wire the neutral start switch to the clutch safety start switch (or bypass if u dont wanna use) and the rest should be assembling it together and driving. :)

IS there a wiring diagram or anything to do that? Either way I dont mind. If it starts without pushing down the clutch who cares lol. Had cars that did that in the past anyways.

well for me what i did was i took one of the round transmission plugs that mount somewhere under the intake manifold IIRC its round has 3 wires one white, one black and a blue, what i did was i jumped the two wires that are across from each other (the pin looks like a T somewhat) and the blue wire is for the reverse light double check with someone on that, the clutch safety i just tapped into the white ignition wire that goes to the ignition keylock cylinder and used the switch on there, ill find the wiring diagram for the reverse lights it has the neutral start wiring on it too

I did a manual swap in my 88 turbo. Using stock w58 clutch and no problems so far. Holds boost just fine. I treat it pretty easy though.

You just need to jumper the 3 wire connector like modmonster said. You'll need to rewire the reverse sensor and if you want a clutch safety, you'll need to wire that in as well.

Everything else is very straightforward. Remove old trans components, install new ones.

Okay thank you for the help so far. But I have a last few questions:

1. Can I use the turbo ecu with my 5 spd trans? Even thou the ecu is a automatic turbo ecu?
2. I was told I gotta worry about the plugs or something? Like one is gray and one is yellow and one will not work in my car? Anyone know anything about that? Like I cant put 89+ in pre 89?
3. What do I do with the boost gauge? Do i swap out the volt meeter for the boost gauge? Hows that work?

Yes i have an 87 auto ecu in my 5 speed turbo. your going to have to take the harness out of the turbo car and put it into the 87 car. and your going to have to take the dash cluster out of the turbo car and the harness out of the dash and put them in your non turbo car if you want the stock boost gauge also going to need the boost pressure sensor.
