Problems with the 1 piece driveshaft anyone?

My damn exhaust pipes keep scrapping the 1 pcs aluminum driveshaft. Anybody experience this?

My friend with a 300zx said he had the same problem too. He ended up making new pipes to allow for clearance though. :nono:

I am running the cooleeze exhaust and the last thing I want to do is replace it. Are there any other ways I can reinforce the exhaust and keep it from bouncing or vibrating besides the crappy rubber donuts?

Don't quite understand what you are saying, but the exhaust has a tendency to bounce up and down. And I did see scrapes on the 1 pcs last week when I took it out.

It sounds a lot like when you spin a metal rod with a metal ring on it. Seems to only make the sound on 3rd+ gear. I can redline 1st and it won't make the noise; 2nd gear on redline however makes the scrapping noise.

Thought it was the transmission or differential, but I put the stock driveshaft back in and all was smooth and normal.

Or could this be the cause of a faulty driveshaft?

there should be about 3 inches between the driveshaft and the underside of the car

unless you have worn out hangers you, it should never touch.

So the driveshaft will expand that much? 3" of clearance?
