problem with trans

ok im not sure if this is where i should put this but i have a question. i put a 89+ motor and auto trans in a 87 shell and used the 89+ grey pluged ecu now when i did this the car runs and does drive but it dont shift.. so i unpluged the ect ecu and it does shift manully. i tried changing the ect ecu thinking it was bad and it didnt help.. im thinking that it because the car i pulled the motor & trans out of had abs and my shell does not and the ect ecu is looking for the abs sensor to send a signal to shift and its not geting one. does any one know if this could be it &how to fix and override this.

Does it feel like it is stuck in a gear higher than first?

no codes are coming up but its stuck in first and wont go higher

If you put the range selector in 1, and take off, can you upshift to 2? I thought you could based on the OP.

The number 2 solenoid in the valve body might not be turning on. It also might not be getting power. You have to figure that part out.

That is why you need the EWD for your model and year.

if you do that with the ect ecu unpluged it does shift up but if the ect ecu is pluged in it wont shift up
