ok i bought a 87 supra turbo and had a 90 body that i swaped the engine into. when i first swap it in the engine wasnt getting its power so i bypassed the front fuse box and now everything has its power. but now when i first start it the supra idles at 1500 rpms then starts fluctuating between 1000 rpms to 2000 rpms so i decided to take it out for a drive to see if it runs right. when i took it out for a drive ill be running about 3000 to 4000 rpms on 1st gear then when i shift it to 2nd it wont go over 2000 rpms. and its like that every gear. and in 1st it like it has no power. im thinking its because ether that my acordian is leaking or my maybe i have a leak in one of my ic system. if anyone has any idea what else it could be let me know.

First off i would not bypass the fuse box, or you are gonna be running power to everything at charging voltage. correct that issue first. you have fuses for circuit protection and with that bypassed you are taking a big risk. You issue might be in that you are sending the wrong voltage to ecu which in turn is sending/receiving wrong voltage from/to inputs/outputs. does that make any sense? sounded better in thought.

well if you think about that it sounds about right but everything is getting the right amount of volts. all i really did was bypass a relay. i have a wire running from the battery to a 15a fuse to the +B wire.but everything is getting the right amount of volts. and i dont really think even if it was managing to get to much volts that the car would run but has a loss of power. im most likely thinking is a leak in something. the previous owner was running it all screwed up but it still ran fine. but now my question is can a boost leak cause the rpms to fluctuate or can a leak in the acordian give me a loss of power?

Why havent you replaced the accordion tube? Your AFM basically "counts" air, any air the motor consumes without the AFM knowing about it, is bad. Yes leaks are bad in the accordion and intercooler piping.

Also relays are there for a reason. Why not just figure out why it is not being signaled?

I agree with the relay first. What relay is it? the only relay that comes to mind in the underhood fuse box is the main relay? For the idle to jump that much and never stall almost sounds like the iscv. but then again as mentioned metered air being released or unmetered air entering will cause issues. Have you checked codes. Also how is your exhaust plugged or partially plugged cats can be a pain in the ass.

will the relay i bypassed was the main relay. i havent check the codes yet. thats what i was thinking. the air being pulled in is not good and making it idle and drive funny.

me and a buddy figured out the problem. it didnt have anything to do with the bypass i did. my buddy told me that the car was sucking to much air in and thats why it idles funny. and he also showed me that my ic piping is lose and that why i had a loss of power.
