I have an offer to buy a pt67 turbo for really really cheap. I was just wondering if anyone here runs one. any thoughts/review on it. Common sense tells me it'll be laggy but I thought i'd ask anyhow. I have no idea what the exhaust ar is and isnt the compressor just a 60-1?

Thanks.

OK
its a 67mm compressor not a 61, do you know if its ball bearing or journal? i'd imagine its laggier than a 61 but quicker spooling then a 70. i have a pt70 and overall precision turbos aren't bad at all

I have a 67 and full spool by 4000. Who cares about the spool under that, its not like we have the cid to make tq there lol...and we can rev to the moon! Get it and never look back!

Ouch, thats a bit large of an exhaust housing... It will be laggy for sure, but pull like a beast up top. Hope you have cams and a sound head so you can rev to the heavens!

Journal bearing T67s are major dogs on 1jz's, I have driven/ tuned one and it doesnt do much till 4500-5000 rpms, once it comes online it really pulls hard. It makes full boost after the peak TQ mark, which really shows that it is miss matched to the engine. I feel it really kills the joy of the 1jz powerband, atleast on a street car. On the 2jz bottom end (3.0L) they spool fine, normally around 4000 rpms and maybe quicker with a DBB version. They are a great match for the 3.0 L , Unless you are going for 600+ HP I would go with something a bit smaller. 61-63 mm's are tons of fun and still flow for 500-550 WHP.

On a stock cammed car I'd agree, on a cammed 1jz, completely different. I hated my engine and sold it (with a set of cams I bought but never installed). I installed the cams to for the new owner and tested them out (he wanted to see, as did I) and was amazed at the difference. The car was amazing to drive pulled hard and was a completely different animal. It didn't have the laggy feel anymore nore felt the powerband was very narrow like with the stock cams. I would of gave the money back but all ready bought a 2jz with it, lol. Its the only setup I regret getting rid of.

Mine was a Ptrim .68 and was on by 4500 with the cams. Before the cams it was on at like 4200. Reving from 4200 to 6700 was boring as hell, but with the cams, reving from 4500 to 7700 was great. It kept going and just set the limiter there cause it wasn't my engine anymore. It peaked power about 7300-7400 and held it strong till the 7700 rev limit. I constantly was baning it off the limiter cause the power just didn't let up.
