Well, drove from Ft. Bragg to Raleigh last nite to see the import show. Very nice.

Yet, for some reason while going down a rough part of highway 40, my car just dies while I am going 85 mph in 5th gear.

Why in the world would it just die in gear? How is that possible? I thought that while the car was in gear... the engine would keep going. It shouldn't just die.

Anyhow, tried to turn the engine with the starter... nothing. Then I tried stepping on the clutch and dropped it a couple of times and the car started up and went.

Yet, when going through downtown, rough roads, IT HAPPEN AGAIN! I do the same trick as before and it works.

Then right before getting into the car show, semi-smooth roads... IT HAPPENS AGAIN!

I am freaked out now... it's an hour and 30 minute drive back to base.

So I go 5-10 miles slower than the speed limit home.... rough road... the car dies in gear, but I drop the clutch a couple of times and it goes.

Then We stop at a gas station had to get drinks and all... turn the car off... and... when backing out of the parking sport, car shudders really hard (darn new stage 3 clutch) and then dies. It wouldn't start at all. CRAP!

We put gas in it, with the hope the gas guage might just be jacked up... nope. The my friend is like, "lets push start it."

We push start it, but it doesn't start... then I try to start it with the ignition... and it finally worked.

I've tried reading as much as I can about this problem, just frustrated. No CEL, but I will check codes tomorrow. I seriously cannot figure what it could be.

Everything turns on. All the start up lights come on, engine turns, fuel is there, just changed spark plugs and coil packs... what could it be?

/\ Yep. CPS wiring is not making a good connection. I bet you the next time it dies or wont start, if you have someone wiggle the CPS connector, it'll start.

You need to rewire that ASAP. Before you really get stranded.

I AM DONE! This is ridiculous!

Tried wiggling the CPS wires, nothing... and yes, the car died (wanted to die) while taking a short 4 mile drive.

Leaking oil... leaking gear oil... I don't know....

Checked most the wiring... and seems like... SEEMS LIKE... there is nothing wrong.

SO...

Wednesday I am going to Majestic Motorsports in Jacksonville, NC. Granted it's a 1~2 hour drive, but I will have at least one person to follow me and help me if something happens.

I am certain the specialists at Majestic can figure and fix ALL the problems with the car. Hell, I might as well get a cheap standalone from them while doing it, if they have any cheap standalones... I don't know... considering I have a small budget of $2000... if the costs go way over that... well... I guess I am S.O.L.

At least I know these guys will know what they are doing and know how to fix the problem. So far, everyone I've talked to locally, has recommended them. Hopefully, they are as good as everyone makes them sound.

I had a very similar issue. My car would die out of no where. Usually happened when i was at a light or something. I wiggled a few wires and i eventually heard a relay clicking every time i wiggled a wire. I found out my EA2 connector itsself was bad. It was not getting a good contact inside the housing shutin the car off. I ended up cutting that whole connector off and wiring my own connector(s). Car started idled better had better response everything. Only issue is i didnt get to fully test it out, that same night i spun a bearing on my 1j

Wednesday,Wednesday, Wednesday!

Appointment set!

I will ensure that what ever they tell me, I will relay to you all.

Thank god my secondary vehicle, a Volvo 850 wagon, is a tank. Regardless of how much abuse that wagon takes... it keeps on going.
