So we have all read the papers where they want to sell expensive cars for next to nothing that have been confiscated, but has anyone done this or have experience?

They are auctions, and good cars get bid up. $500 is the starting price for most vehicles, though. Father in law bought an 89 Celica for ~800 iirc, started at $1.00 lol
The way they did it here was you showed up and paid an entry fee to get a flag/number. Then you go to the bidding area where they show the cars. Bid, win, drive/tow it away at the end.
Nice, I meet a mexican fellow at a drag strip once who bought an integra Gsr supercharged for 800 bucks.. I was astounded, I guess I'll have to talk to some locals and figure out a little bit more.
no entry fee at the local one.... steve you got ripped..... i got my 89 celica for $100 at my auction.... that is the motor i put in the 91. ours was show up and raise hand for bid.
No worries, it was only $2 per person. Plus it wasn't me that went- inlaws needed a car. I just got to help fix it once it got home

Damn, all the cheapasses around here must drive the prices up. I went to the local auction a few times and everything got bid up way more than it was worth. A ratty galant sold for $2K.

I am soo interested in this.. Not pertaining to the auctions, there is an mk3 in town here white, hardtop, n/a, auto... FOr 3500.. I said i might come back but.. we know i will not. Hehehe :nono:
