Piston to head clearance

Does anyone know the minium piston to head clearance that can be used on a 7mgte?

.030 piston to head minimum, requires .040 gasket at least!

i take it your shaving the head or decking the block?

Yes the head and block were cleaned up for use with a HKS stopper gasket but the gasket I have is 1mm and the piston is .008 out of the hole and that only gives me .031 clearance so I was a little worried about the piston hitting the head.

it might not hit the head, but may have valve clearence issues. a 2mm may be needed

where all 6 pistons measured? tolerance stack needs to be taken into account as well. Also any carbon build up down the road could have some serious effects.
I'm sitting right at .045 quench. all six slugs where fly cut to get a uniform .012 deck protrusion. 40cc head combustion chamber and 1.6mm HG. Right at 8.9:1 compression.

whats the head volume after decking?
