Pillar gauge hole question (makine 52mm hole to 60mm)

I have a dual pillar gauge for my car. The hole on it is 52mm but I want to put in a 60mm standard gauge.... has anyone tried making the hole bigger and did you succeed or did the gauge just not fit in?

It should fit fine with dremeling, I've done it before.
