Performing a helicoil repair on the intake manifold?? Thoughts & suggestions needed

I am in the process of installing a new FFIM and it looks as though two of my bolts are cross-threaded. I have already done the 7/16" helicoil repair on my exhaust manifold studs offered by Driftmotion. I figured this might be a good time to do the same on the intake side.

Has anyone done a helicoil repair on the intake? If so, what did you go with?

I came across this kit offered by Grainger. Would this be sufficient? It's an M8x1.25 kit.

Time certs are better.

I'd try cleaning up the threads with a tap first tho.

I'm sure that would work fine.
I mean, the torque spec for intake bolts is only 13ft-lbs.

Can you elaborate a bit? What exactly are time certs?

I've never seen the intake side thread pull out... If they do, your head is likely trash.

I wasn't looking for a link. I was able to do that on my own.

Merely looking for an explanation as to why they are 'better'.

Obvious to whom? I'm clearly a neophyte when it comes to this topic...hence the original question.

What may be obvious to you, isn't so clear cut to others. This is a forum to help educate people correct? Not make assumptions as to what they 'should' know.

I'd be happy to hear what you have to say on the topic in hopes of learning something new.

You're right in that it wouldn't be obvious. Sorry, having a bad night. If the threads are buggered up on the intake just helicoil the thing and be done with it...

Full inserts aren't necessary in that application therefore the cost is unwarranted. I'd use a coiled insert.
