PALM TREO 700WX SmartPhone.

So I upgraded my cell phone from a Razor, to the TREO 700WX.

I have only had it 2 days but I have to say it is quite bad ass!! Besides the great price of the plan. 130.00PER MONTH (I was paying about 100 per month on with my Razor and it ONLY worked local. I could not roam or even go to Orlando with it)

I get 2000min per month. UNLIMITED Internet access (and it also can plug into my laptop and give me internet access (about 700k not bad!) Unlimited text messages (i never text but I may start!)

The best part of it is it connects to my email account and I receive all my emails on it. I set it to check every 15 min. or if I know I am getting one I can tell it to check right away, It still lets my email download to my PC when I get home so that is cool. I can set up ALOT of email accounts. It works with MSN Messenger, and there is a download for AOL IM. It has a SD Card slot for a normal sized SD card. Currently have a 1gig card in there. but it can hold a 2 gig and the sales guy told me there is a way to make it work with a 4gig. The camera is not that bad took some pics , Outside with good daylight its decent. 1.3mp I think? I came with all the cables and software I needed to make it work. it does have a vista problem but the guy at Alltel told me his tech department figured out how to get it to work so they are going to help me Monday. All in all a nice package deal.

Just wanted to add. I conntected it to my laptop and did a speed test. Not as bad as I thought it would be.. And I can still recieve calls while I am online. It will pause the internet but goes back on when I hang up.

I have only had it 5 days. I get 30 to return it. But its working perfectly, for what I do with it. I basicly use it so I can get online with my laptop and use the phone. Other then that I wont be installing any programs in it or trying to use pocket word.

Well so far so good. We will see.

So what was the major problems you found?

Its the worst windows mobile smart phone on the market.

#1 the LCD screen is substandard for windows, no 3rd party programs work
#2 The phone lacks serious memory, you'll be pushing the reset button once a day
#3 You'll NEVER be able to sync it, it's got a software gitch and will give you errors when syncing to office 2003.
#4 It's got the slowest processor in it's class
#5 It's got the worst battery life in it's class
#6 it's got the slowest thruput for sharing internet (what you do) in the world
#7 the SD card slot works maybe half the time
#8 WTF no built in wifi??????????
#9 Bluetooth only works with palm devices consistantly
#10 if you install wireless sync, you might as well throw it in the garbage.


Seriously dude, ditch that trash and get the 6700.

Well I dont see the 6700 available from Alltel But so far I have not had any of the problems you listed. I did get it surfing , even in vista and the speed was what I expected. over 900k . So far I have had ZERO problems (knock on wood) but I do have time to hate it. Alot of the list of problems would never affect me. I dont Sync, and never will. Bluetooth is cool and all but its not on my pc or laptop and I dont plan on adding it. my laptop is wifi so I dont know why I need it on my phone. I have no use for pocket word or any programs. (i did play cubis a few times) I guess I am just useing it for a phone, internet to the laptop and I have it checking my email.

im not saying that the listed items would be cool if they were fixed, and that 6700 I looked up and looks cool I just cant buy it at alltel for . We will see, if it gives me a hard time I will return it..
