Take notice of the preproduction ringer, the worn in production examples, and what high heat does to testing. MA70 only.

I don't have all of them. Some are incomplete. If others have originals, not the 54th copy of the April '89 Car &Driver, I wouldn't mind them being added in. Enjoy.

The last two I think are a good description of the MA70 Supra. Not so much a sports car, as a luxury GT. Muscle meets manners. I just wished some of you liked this car as much as I do. It goes along with the original description of buttery smooth. The quietest engine they ever tested. Ample torque and free reving engine.

The last set you posted was for the 91-92 not 89 :)

Great stuff!

Take note of SC's edit. He lined them up like in the mag. The comments are mine.

Nice find, some interesting clips in there. Ha if only they stayed that clean good-looking.

They do when they are taken care of and not riced out.

It would be nice if Toyota brought back the Supra and let the original desingers of the Supra design the new model. All these ugly looking Prius and Nissan Jukes are just annoying. They are making cars look like they are from some other Alien planet.

The R35 looks okay in a magazine but up close, it is super nice. The Nissan Juke and Prius look bad on paper and horrible in person.

Seeing all these old reviews of the Supra when it was new justifies a new one. We have went long enough without a new model that deserves the "Supra" name. Look at what Ford did with the 302, they are bringing it back with the new 5.0 which is one badass motor. Toyota needs to do the same. I recently read that Toyota renewed their ownership of the "Supra" name, so maybe there might be an actual Supra in the process of being designed for production, I am not sure if that is true though.

Even tho this was posted 3 years ago.

none of those cars have 91-92 5 spokes so they couldnt be 91-92 specs. Also says 89 in the text.

Where did you read it? That is outstanding news if true, assuming it to be a worthy car. A decade ago they announced they were out of the sports car business, and if they sold one again it would be in the Lexus line. That left us with the impressive yet grossly overpriced LFA. You could have two Ford GT's for that money. And then pull the blower for a pair of GT35R's and dyno 1000 hp with no other changes including the fuel system.
