I got my car out of impound.

For those who don't know, my car sat in an impound lot in Naples, FL from the begining of July to Nov. 25th 2005.

To make a very long story short, we swapped VIN#s from my black car to this white car and our landlord called the cops when he saw my black car (busted the windshield to get the dash VIN).

Gets confusing here...
We swapped VIN#s because I bought the white car in 2004, was promised a title to the car, but the title never came. When the black car blew a tire, it destroyed the front end, so we had no choice but to swap its guts into the white car (white car was a rolling chassis).

So both cars got impounded, hubby was arrested and released. Charges were eventually dropped because I was able to prove both cars were mine (Thanks to Jeff Tamulis who got me the title, someone else had sold me the car but Jeff was the real owner). Months later Florida issues the car with a sticker VIN and it was released from impound.

Now the damn thing has 3 holes in the block. :icon_evil Funny how things change in 365 days.

yeah even the cops themselves (detectives) told me that they would have never found out. we had pop riveted all the VIN tags, minus the engine bay tag, so it looked stock. I don't know of any cops who can tell physically the car wasn't an '85.

at one point I had gotten pulled over before the impoundment and they asked why the title said it was a black car, when the car they pulled over was white. told them it was a shitty maaco paintjob :D they believed it, and told me to go to the DMV on Monday to change the color of the car on the title, to which I did, hah.
