Hi, I recently joined Supramania. I have performed the basic 7M-GTE swap into Mk2 body. So far runs well but it does not quite drop the horsepower to road that I'd prefer. Looking for others in Utah area who have performed the 7M-GTE swap who can offer technical direction and assistance. Thanks

What problems are you having? 12psi out of the stock ct26 .... should make that car really damn fast. 300+rwhp/tq

One man's fast is another man's "meh". ;)

That said, I'd try celicasupra.com, good community, and a lot more Mk2 focused.

12psi on a stock turbo is not going to be 300hp unless you have a really really good tune or high compression.

Do your homework with a stock motor and compression you wont get that far. He had built motor. Who knows the compression.

Stock is 232 crank hp. Add in the 15% drivetrain lose and its like 190-200 wheel. Then add in 20 year old bottom end. Maybe 170. The add 5-7 more psi maybe like 250.

Buddys car made 267hp 310 tq on 57 trim at 8-9psi. rebuilt with stock compression.

You should read the coments on that link as well

Heres the build specs

Engine build specs
http://www.supramania.com/forums/sho...07649-7m-build
9.3:1 CR
2:0 MHG
cams gears on stock settings
AEM is not on the car yet its on stock ecu.
All the mods are listed
I dont think the built engine helps where everything else is stock.
Tires are kumho 225's
91 octane
1200 foot elevation
track temp was around 65F
Timing is 10 degrees(base)
Well it has
exhaust (stock elbow)
a fully built shortblock
2.75 inch pipe where the 3000 pipe goes.
8.5psi (stock waste gate)
245 tires.
This is a stock baseline before tunes it with cams and big turbo.

Who said anything about boosting an old worn motor? That should be common sense but anyways my baseline was 182rwhp ....... on a fresh rebuild with a cometic headgasket and arp head studs..... and at 12psi on stock 440's i hit 311rwhp with a/f bouncing between 11-11.5 and 10degrees timing. So take it for what its worth bc I am not going to argue.

Thats cool for you but again its a built motor. Do you know how many people are running around with stock bottom ends?\

theres different types of dyno and everyones engine is different. you have to expect the bottom of the chart unless specified.
