Hi guys, im looking at going to a full flow oil cooler kit and want to keep it as simple as possible - that means no remote filter relocation (dont need it, cant reach mine fine). I just want to use a sandwich adapter with thermostat included and -10 An fittings and run lines to and from the oil cooler (as I said, very simple).

I was thinking of using this earls style adapter...

the thread is 3/4" -16 though, I know this will work with the 7M, but what thread size do I need for the 1JZ? Is it the same thread and if not, does anyone know where I can get one of these adaptor/thermostats that will work the the 1JZ?

As i mentioned, dont really want to use an in-line thermostat as its too much stuff in the way with all the fittings etc.

cheers

actually on second thoughts, can the above adaptor be used with the oil filter on top of it? (i.e. the adaptor is "sandwiched" between the engine block and the oil filter?)

7m,1j and 2j use the same exact oil filter. If you go to any auto parts store(pepboys, autozone, advan autoparts, r&sstraus) you'll find the same part number for those engines. So if the 7m is 3/4" - 16 (which sounds right from what I remember) then it will be the same thread for the 1j and 2j. I got everything I need for my 1j at summit racing.

thanks for the insight dude! are you using s similar style of thermostat? the only downside(s) I can see is that it "bypasses" the oil filter so technically the "dirty" oil is going through the cooling core at the end of its cycle.

also, can you recommend a specific size/brand of core? B&M seem to be ok but they aren't very thick.

there is this one here: dimensions seem about perfect for what i need..

I have this:

I also have the filter relocated so the oil going to the cooler is already filtered. I just have a leak from the lines cause I had gotten shitty ones. I just got some fittings and about to get some SS braided oil lines.
what sort of block adapter are you using buddy? also where did you get your remote filter relocater from?
