I have a oil leak in under the dist cap.
Did a search and found its what I thought it was, the seal.
I keep seeing "CPS", what is or does CPS stand for?
Is there a page with all the acronyms for this site?

I was going to install new cap and rotor, should I wait on the cap and rotor until I replace the seal?

I come from a land down under
Crank Position Sensor or Cam Position Sensor sort of interchangeable for our car as the Distributor/CPS has sensors for both in one unit.

There's a sealed bearing under the reluctor star wheel that in your case sounds like it's leaking.

No use installing the new parts until you correct this.

Inside the distributor theres a small hole, is that where the oil is coming from? if it is thats the seals in the sealed bearings of the dist shaft bearings. Mine was leaking I thought it was the oring but NOOOO it was those seals, the oil caused the underside of the electronics to crak then it started shorting out. I ended getting lucky and buying a rebuit beck arnley dist off ebay for 39.00.

Can't really tell if the oil is from the hole or is flowing there.
There is only a small drop of oil from the hole.
If the replaceable o-ring rubber seal is leaking, where in the dist would the oil be leaking?

I can see sings of oil leak where the dist mounts to the motor.

There is part of a thin (about the thickness of a paper clip) seal sitting lose under the cap.
Is that the o-ring seal or the non replaceable seal?

The hole, IIRC, is just a weep to direct any leaks away from the electronics. There is a seal on the outside of the shaft housing and then inside there's a bearing with a built in seal between the shaft and the housing. If the outer seal leaks you get oil running down the side of the engine from the base of the dist. If you've got oil inside the distributor the bearing's seal has most likely failed.

People have found a replacement sealed bearing for the CPS, but I don't know if the same one will work in the dist.

Got the dist and it looks fine.
At local repair shop that sells Beck Arnley parts, the part listed at $400.
I seen it online for around $200.
How is it that it can be sold for $55?
