Parts are on there way in and pics to follow by the weekend (assuming they come in on time).

$43.30 = 2nd gen rx-7 oil cooler (built in thermo, and MASSIVE) LOST 5-8 PSI through the rpm band. Psi still within specs though.
$4.21x 15ft aeroquip socketless hose (hell of a work out)
$12.84 = Push lock hose ends 1/2-1/2, ($2.14 X 6)
$23.10 = Metric to NPT fitting M18x1.5-1/2 pipe thread ($11.55 X 2) HARD TO FIND
$23.88 = Perma cool remote filter mount 1/2 fittings 3/4-16 filter threads
$19.95 = perma cool spin on filter adapter 1/2, 3/4 -16

$9.75 = summit S&H
$10.04 = DiscountHydraulicHose.com S&H

TECH NOTE: per mazda shop manual, IN to cooler is the fitting facing up. OUT is the fitting facing 90 Degrees and on the same end of the end tank with thermo stat .

the goods, fourth pic is thermostat, or "thermopellet" as the mazda guys call it. Oil bypasses MOST of the cooler through that hole and when it hits the right temp the thermopellet expands and blocks that hole shut forcing oil through the cooler only. In fifth pic you can see into the thermopellet location within the cooler end tank.

pic 1 is of the craptastic stocker.
Pic 2, i reused the stock filter head with a spin on adapter and the bypass valve shimmed shut with a bolt, no play to open at all and then capped the hose end off. The spin on adapter has no adjustment to where the hose ends face in relation to when it tightens up on the block. Where i needed the IN/OUT to face left the adapter to loose for comfort.

i removed the turbo and manifold for something else which made it 10X easier to get the fit i needed on the block.

pic 1 no choice but to stick it in front of the inter cooler until i can add a different IC that mounts horizontally with the front bumper and lower rad. support. The OC is to thick to stick behind the IC with the condenser and is nearly as long as the radiator.
It wont fit between the vertical rad. supports with out some cutting and removal of the condenser either.
Pic 3, remote filter behind driver side fog light.

pic 4, looking through side of drivers headlight when in the up position.

pic 5, intake of cooler, oil line loops from under front head light to behind coolant overflow bottle.

oil lines to and from filter head to cooler and vise versa. Not 100% on the zip ties but they will do until i can get some brackets to secure them.

Just an FYI... Never stuck with this setup. Rx7 cooler is a pain to mount. Using a b&m bar and plate 2-3 times the size of the stock unit and aeroquip hose. Been using it for several years with out issue. Mounted between intercooler and ac condenser where the third ac fan would normally be.
