Hello everyone. I took the car out for a drive and drove it a little bit hard, pretty much stepped on it all the way to 5k rpm through 2nd and 3rd. Once i got back home i opened the hood and noticed there was a bunch of oil spilled all over the abs housing on the turbo side. I looked at my dipstick and noticed it sticking out about an inch. Now i am assuming that the oil came out of the dipstick as i did not see any other signs of oil spilling out.
My mods are:
Built motor. JE .020 pistons, with JE rings
stock rods
cometic 2.0 MHG
Fully balanced bottom end
ARP studs
new bearings, water pump, oil pump
Complete stock rebuild on the head.
I have the stock PCV system setup.(Not Modified)
What could be causing this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

i had same issue, drilling out the pcv ports on the valve covers fixed it AFTER i verified there was no blockage in the tube behind the alternator and any of the other pcv lines. its excess pressure in the crankcase, better the dipstick and not your seals ;)

Maybe you left it out that far? When you stick the dipstick in is there any resistance? Or it could be an improperly operating pcv system.

no dipstick was all the way in, i am going to double check my pcv hard lines see if there is any blockage. would a crimp on a pcv line possibly cause this?

In addition to checking the PCV hoses on top of the engine, take a look at the big hose running from the block to the driver's side cam cover (behind the alternator). There should be no kinks in any of the hoses.

It's not a bad idea to take a look at the PCV orifice in the TB. It's pretty common for it to get blocked (though it should not cause the dipstick to blow out).

As long as there's a path for crankcase pressure to exit, the dipstick should not do this. Unless there is excessive blow-by on the pistons.

Thank you for all the help guys.
Would not installing the piston rings exactly per the tsrm cause excessive blow by? I am just wondering trying to cover all my basis.
I will go ahead and check my pcv system for blockage and kinks, and also the tb orifice. Just to be on the safe side i will do a compression check and report the numbers back.
Once again thank you for all the help.

Yes, if installing them improperly resulted in the rings not being seated correctly. Also if there was a stress fracture in the pistons at the ring seats you'll have the same issue. This happened to me. I had oil in my IC, IC pipes, friggin everywhere.
I hope it's not that so make sure you try opening up the PCV system any way you can first.

he can verify its not the rings with a simple compression test. i had oil in my IC pipes compression was great across all the cylinders so its a turbo seal.

Broken ring lands are 99.99% of the time due to detonation..

Yep that's exactly what caused it. The engine was trashed, auto transmission was slipping in reverse to the point it would even go backwards but the body and interior was real nice and the price was right so I bought it anyway. It was a good place to start.

Grim to his car, I found a few of my pcv lines are kincked so i am picking new ones up from the dealership, and checking compression today. anybody know where i can get the pcv hoses apart from the dealership? their a pretty penny if i can get some stock replacement goodyear hoses for cheaper i wouldn't mind. thank you.

id run 1/2 I.D. for the valve cover vents to the tb and then to the accordian port. Autozone carries pcv hose but "A system will only flow as much as the point of greatest restriction" (drill out those valve cover ports). And as far as that big one behind the alternator, oem. Local guy used autozone hose and had a hard time keeping it from kinking, VERY hard time.

look at the valve covers, see the ports behind the "3000" pipe? pull/twist those out, they are pressed in. Then drill and tap the hole for a larger fitting.
