Well, every once in awhile my car won't seem to want to turn over, usually I'll try to turn the key and it won't do anything, not even trying to turn over, but if I give it a jump it will try to turn over and I gotta give it alot of gas while trying to turn over to get it started and the idol is really funky once I do get it finally started. I'm wondering if maybe it's my starter? I don't know where it is on this car but I've had to replace a few of them before, so I guess it would be a good idea to take it out and get it tested, my battery is fine, but my alternator is bad, I tested that at work the other day.

Well, replace the alternator if you are sure it is bad. Then recharge the battery. If you have to jump start the battery, then it is discharged. The longer it is discharged, the more likely the battery will not recover.

If the terminals are loose, you could have the exact same symptoms. The jumper cable will latch down on the battery post, allowing a start. I have seen that more than once. When you solve those issues and the car will crank over for 20 to 30 seconds, we will look at the other issue. Never pump the pedal.
