I tried searching for a thread talking about this but wasn't able to come up with something usefull. I installed an aftermarket temp gauge today and I just want to make sure everything is in check as far as temps go. Please let me know if any of this is not normal.
External temps - Mild, around 20-25C out at night.
Cruising (any speed) - 180-190F
Idle - starts to climb up to about 195F tops then goes to 180-190 @ cruise
After turning off - Climbs up to about 210F after shutting off and sitting for a few minutes.. highest i've seen it go is about 212F
Now are those temperatures normal? After I shut it off it may climb up to about 212F but as soon as I turn it back on it drops down to about 180-185 almost imediately. And a final note, the probe is installed on the outside housing of the thermostat.. so since it flows through the upper rad hose to the rad it would be after the thermostat on the rad side (make sense?)
Thanks guys!
