Also, I was under the impression that the wing was an option for non-turbo cars (at least for certain years).

Largely depends on market, however, since SM is mainly concentrated in North America, I'll answer for here.

No North American N/A MK3 Supras had a factory installed spoiler on the hatch. The only time they will have one is if the dealer or previous owner installed one, and in most cases, you can tell if one was added by looking at the rear glass to see if there is a spot where there is no wires for the original 3rd brake light.

From the factory, all N/A Supras did not have the spoiler, and all Turbos did (in North America).

how reliable our engines are...

i prefer the spoiler on there, after living without one for a few years it just looks right.

Mine was definitely added on later. You could see the spot where the NA 3rd brake light was on the inside of the hatch where they had to patch the plastic trim panel to cover the hole. I was never really happy with it and really wanted to get rid of it after I went turbo. Thankfully I found an NA guy that wanted to swap hatches......

and?

1st one gave in due to serious detonation issues. even a built race motor won't last under those conditions.

the motor was fine before that. and so is this one

Thanks Jeff I just learned something new on the spoiler for my 1990. I had always believed that the spoiler on my n/a was factory installed. Figures it was the dealer jacking up the selling price with a lot of extra options that they added.
