I was driving to my lake house on saturday and had driven about 40 miles so far, everything was good. well i go to pass a car that was going slow, and i give it almost wot and while im passing the engine starts studdering and look in the rear view and see clouds of blue smoke.

i take the next left turn to check things out and when i push the clutch in to slow down for the turn, the engine dies. i let the clutch back out and the engine starts because i was still moving and i made the turn and went a little further to get somewhere i could pull over and the engine was studdering bad and smoking so i get on the shoulder and it died when i pushed in the clutch (wouldnt idle, just died).

so i pop the hood to find oil was dripping out the air filter all over the ground. i took off the inlet pipe before the turbo to find it was a pool of oil in the intake. so now the car wont start at all.

came back sunday with a trailer and brought the car home. the engine has good spark, timing is perfect, timing of the cams is dead on, getting fuel, but comppression test on all cylinders shows 60-75psi. What could have caused this and what should i look for? thanks.

engine specs:
stock rebuild
holset turbo running 12psi
3 inch exhaust
intake
stock intercooler, but hardpipes are aftermarket

Leakdown test? How much oil was left in the motor?

My theory (could be way off) is that perhaps your turbo is blown and rings are junk = no compression, blue smoke, etc, etc.

oil level was fine, because it was overfilled a quart anyway. but blown turbo seal would make sense for the blue smoke and oil in the intake but why the rings? i was not boosting high and i run 93 octane gas so i doubt detonation or anything damaging like that ocuured.

You said you had a pool of oil that leaked out, I was guessing maybe the engine starved for a moment
