so this is a 89 turbo that i bought about a month ago so far i havent gotten it started due to what i believed to be a bad igniter. well two igniters later i finally have one that test good and still no spark.

Ive checked all the fuses in the engine bay all have continuity

so i checked the fuses behind the kick panel and alot are missing
the car didnt come with the cover so i dont know what they all are,
but im thinkn the no spark might have somethin to do with the missin fuses
the fuses arent in my haynes manual and i couldnt find in the online tsrm.

so far i have

tested coil packs they ohm good
tested power to coils 12vlts
tested power to the igniter 12 vlts
checked for ground in the igniter
modified the ground in the ignter

tested the cps wires
G2,G1,NE all ohm 150
air gap is a tight .08

also my cps wires arent colored like they should be// see the green into blue?
i dont now if they faded or if i wired them correctly.

if my cps is wired wrong there will be no spark correct?
but it doesnt need to be in timing right?
i reset my timing like three times so i don't think its that.

if its not the fuses then it's probably my engine harness
im going to pull it if we can't come up with anything!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an '89 (grey plug harness), but it has a green plug CPS.
It is wired (Harness on left, CPS on right):
Red ---> Green
Blue---> Red
Yellow---> Tan (or white...looks discolored)
Black---> Yellow

It is such a good feeling to see that spark after several weeks of nothing!!!!!!!

Turns out the cps was wired incorrectly, let this be a lesson to anyone with cut plugs.............

One door tends to open another in the supra world..

Now that i have spark i must get it timed correctly
because it will not fire.

I now how to time it according to the tsrm but its not seeming to work.

Crank at TDC also verified by removing the #1 plug
Alignment marks on cams line up with the cover
Cps is set according to tsrm

I thought i heard something about the intake cam lobe is supposed to be sticking straight out of the oil filler and mine isnt.

Is that a problem????????????????????????

Heres how i wired my CPS to get spark on my 89tt with Grey Plugs:biglaugh:
