After some tinkering I was testing out my car and took it for a drive without my air filter attached and the little 1JZ wouldn't boost. Checked for any possible leaks and tightened everything and still no boost.
Put the air filter back on and boost is back. Took the filter off again to confirm and sure enough the car wouldn't boost without an air filter. Didn't think it would matter since the 1J has a map sensor.
Now not that I intend on running the car without an air filter but just wondering what's the explanation for this and if it might cause me any problems if I get dual intakes.
