if my 1989 turbo supra is burning oil, is it safe to add the fluid treatment that seals up the cylinder walls and rings?

Have a compression test and a leak-down test done. They will help you diagnose where the burning oil is coming from.

NO!!! You have a problem and there are no miricle sloutions. You've gotta think if your sealling your rings other parts of the oil system are going to seal ex. Turbo oil line, oil cooler and line....these products just cause more damage.

Valve cover gaskets, IIRC, can cause oil to burn on start-up. If it's burning oil while running it can be a number of things... valve train, piston rings, and turbo seals.

A compression test and a leakdown test will tell you about the piston rings. If the turbo has play, it could be the turbo causing the problem.

That's a big leak, are you leaving drops anywhere on the concrete after parking? Or is it all being burned? Fix it now, or it'll cost a lot more to fix later.

When is it burning, acceleration, decel, start-up, all the time? These are clues as to where it could be going.

Check your valve cover screws, they like to losen by themselves.

If you can't find leaks....it's gonna be the valve stem seals or turbo.

My valve stem seals where GONE, the only part left was the metal casing, and the inside of the ports was NASTY.

Needless to say, it ran MUCH better after it was cleaned out and the head was rebuilt...
