And I am beginning to realize that the guy I bought my Supra from didn't know much about cars. He's a talker and makes you think he knows a lot until you start learning more, but anyway I am just glad he didn't do the swap (professionally done according to him, and it is a clean swap) and I am just trying to gather my info to make my supra a fun and clean daily.

Where should I start with research (other than the search button lol)

A little more info on what you have is a very good start. Plus it seems that hvyman up there is a damn good source of info for the JZ series.
