I just realized I posted in the technical section and never actually posted an introduction. I've been reading a lot over the last few weeks, and thought I should introduce myself.
I've been in love with these cars since before I could drive - I'd love a mk4, but they are out of my price range, so my mid-life crisis car is a mk3
I'd like to keep the car as close to stock as possible, or at least looking stock. My changes so far are Eibach springs with Kyb GR2 struts (works well, doesn't lower it much over the old WORN out springs) and some cleaning/welding holes. I'd like to get to 300 hp, but that's a future dream - right now I just want to get everything shipshape, which means changes wires, seals, vacuum hoses, heater hoses, tracking down rattles n' squeaks and so on.
