Hey guys my car wouldnt start last year, and the mechanics put a new neutral safety switch in to fix it. During their diagnostic they bypassed it and got it to start so knew that was the problem. Before it completely didnt start, it wouldnt start occasionally (like once a week). Now a year later its doing the same thing again. It starts fine the first, or secnd time but after that no crank or anything so i just sit in my car for about 30 minutes. I just want to bypass the damn thing so i wont have any more starting problems. I know nothing about it and if anyone knows how to fool with it or adjust it or bypass it or anything please let me know b/c the tsrm doesnt really help at all. Thanks,
-Cedric

He installed a new one last year around march, it worked perfectly until about last october when it wouldnt crank like once every 2 weeks, and only got worse where not it doesnt crank like twice a week when i go to start it. I called him today and he said the new one shouldnt go that quickly and it may be my starter relay. Wouldn't the kick panel (starter relay location) clicking imply that the relay is fine and i don't need a new one?

If it was installed right it shouldn't have failed. Then again new parts fail all the time. Fwiw the switch is downstream of the start relay so yeah, looks like it could be the neutral switch. Try juggling the shift selector in P and N while holding the key to start. If that doesn't help then troubleshoot the problem properly and repair what's needed. The TRSM has all the info you need to do that, including how to bypass the switch.
